The <strong data-start=\"642\" data-end=\"665\">SalvaTerra planter<\/strong> contributes to this goal by providing <strong data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"739\">accessible and visible greenery<\/strong> in terraces or courtyards. The client requires innovative solutions that make the property an example of <strong data-start=\"30529\" data-end=\"30550\">sustainable luxury<\/strong>, with state-of-the-art facilities and integration of greenery in every room.  <\/p><p data-start=\"30626\" data-end=\"31156\">Energy-wise, the building is equipped with a traditional rooftop photovoltaic system (5 kWp) and an electric heat pump for air conditioning. The architects also provided <strong data-start=\"30823\" data-end=\"30846\">3 SalvaTerra modules<\/strong>: two placed in the garden and one on the terrace on the second floor. These photovoltaic planters, made of corten corten steel with a natural oxidized finish, are integrated from the early design stages both as functional elements and as <strong data-start=\"31100\" data-end=\"31139\">parts of the architectural language of<\/strong> the house.  <\/p><p data-start=\"31158\" data-end=\"31501\"><em data-start=\"31198\" data-end=\"31499\">The SalvaTerra Photovoltaic Planter installed in a demonstration setting: the two vertical double-sided panels generate energy, while the corten basin accommodates plant essences. The photovoltaic technology, integrated into the design, <strong data-start=\"779\" data-end=\"807\">is almost invisible<\/strong>, hidden behind the lush vegetation.<br data-start=\"851\" data-end=\"854\">As the sun sets, <strong data-start=\"873\" data-end=\"901\">warm LED spotlights<\/strong>, powered by<strong data-start=\"919\" data-end=\"966\">solar energy stored during the day<\/strong>, illuminate the planters from below, creating a <strong data-start=\"1014\" data-end=\"1048\">refined lighting setting<\/strong> for evening poolside events.   <\/p><p data-start=\"1085\" data-end=\"1981\">On the upper floor terrace, a third SalvaTerra planter was <strong data-start=\"1167\" data-end=\"1201\">strategically<\/strong> placed <strong data-start=\"1167\" data-end=\"1201\">on the west side<\/strong>, where it serves a dual function: <strong data-start=\"1236\" data-end=\"1260\">vertical sunshade<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1284\">visual separator<\/strong> for the lounge area. In summer, when the sun sets low, the modules <strong data-start=\"1356\" data-end=\"1393\">shield direct glare<\/strong>, allowing the view to be enjoyed in comfort while <strong data-start=\"1448\" data-end=\"1474\">preserving privacy<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1475\" data-end=\"1478\">The lockable wheel system has been embedded in the terrace flooring, making the structure <strong data-start=\"1586\" data-end=\"1640\">mobile but stable even in high winds.<\/strong> Corten steel dialogues with the building&#8217;s other architectural elements &#8211; such as <strong data-start=\"1728\" data-end=\"1759\">bronzed glass parapets<\/strong> and corten-effect cladding &#8211; resulting in a <strong data-start=\"1811\" data-end=\"1841\">consistent<\/strong> and contemporary <strong data-start=\"1811\" data-end=\"1841\">color palette<\/strong>. The terrace thus takes on the appearance of a <strong data-start=\"1899\" data-end=\"1923\">hi-tech green penthouse<\/strong>, where aesthetics and sustainability come together with balance.   <\/p><hr data-start=\"1983\" data-end=\"1986\"><h4 data-start=\"1988\" data-end=\"2027\">Technical and energy performance<\/h4><p data-start=\"2029\" data-end=\"2694\">Each SalvaTerra planter is equipped with <strong data-start=\"2066\" data-end=\"2101\">two 450 Wp double-sided modules<\/strong>, for a total of <strong data-start=\"2120\" data-end=\"2143\">900 Wp per planter<\/strong>. Based on the<strong data-start=\"2157\" data-end=\"2197\">average annual irradiance in Liguria<\/strong> for vertical installations<strong data-start=\"2222\" data-end=\"2237\">(814 kWh\/kWp<\/strong>), the <strong data-start=\"2243\" data-end=\"2284\">estimated annual production per planter<\/strong> is about <strong data-start=\"2296\" data-end=\"2312\">732 kWh\/year<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"2313\" data-end=\"2316\">With <strong data-start=\"2320\" data-end=\"2347\">three planters installed<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2352\" data-end=\"2379\">total annual production<\/strong> is around <strong data-start=\"2401\" data-end=\"2419\">2,197 kWh\/year<\/strong>, energy used to power<strong data-start=\"2457\" data-end=\"2482\">outdoor lighting<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"2488\" data-end=\"2533\">small pump for the ornamental pond<\/strong>, and other auxiliary electrical loads. In summer, the excess is fed <strong data-start=\"2598\" data-end=\"2638\">into the private home grid<\/strong>, helping to cut down consumption from the public grid.  <\/p><p data-start=\"2696\" data-end=\"3403\">Environmentally, these planters cover about <strong data-start=\"2760\" data-end=\"2812\">14-15% of the annual electricity needs of the duplex<\/strong>, which is supplemented with the<strong data-start=\"2841\" data-end=\"2875\">5 kWp PV system on the roof<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2878\" data-end=\"2919\">purchase of certified green energy<\/strong> to achieve the goal of <strong data-start=\"2953\" data-end=\"2988\">100% from renewable energy (RES).<\/strong><br data-start=\"2989\" data-end=\"2992\">The energy contribution of the planters allowed the <strong data-start=\"3061\" data-end=\"3119\">10% required LEED credit for on-site renewables<\/strong> to be exceeded, securing the <strong data-start=\"3134\" data-end=\"3158\">3 credits fully<\/strong>.<br
