SalvaTerra: The latest most beautiful installations of designer vertical photovoltaics

Two vertical PV installations: two different contexts, one philosophy

We wanted to introduce you to two of our most recent installations of SalvaTerra, the designer photovoltaic planter that combines elegance and functionality.
Two examples that stand out in terms of their purpose of use and architectural context: one dedicated to hospitality and tourist sustainability, the other inserted into an innovative industrial environment.
Both demonstrate how vertical photovoltaics can become an architectural feature capable of combining aesthetic value, functionality and clean energy production.

Design furniture with SalvaTerra vertical photovoltaics for campsite in the heart of Trentino

Corten furniture integrated with nature that brings energy to guests

The first installation was made at Zoo Camping Arco, a glamping immersed in the nature of Trentino, between olive trees and mountains.
The owner, Pietro, chose SalvaTerra to enrich the outdoor spaces with a solution that combines technology, aesthetics and sustainability.
As he tells:

“The photovoltaic planter is not only a way to produce clean energy, but a piece of furniture that perfectly complements the aesthetics of the campsite.”

The corten steel structure harmonizes with the natural landscape, while the double-sided modules capture light from both sides, generating clean energy without altering the visual balance.
The installation was completed quickly and unobtrusively, even during the peak season, without interfering with the facility’s activities.

Functionality and added value for hospitality

In addition to design, SalvaTerra offers practical and versatile functions: it can demarcate relaxation areas, parking lots or pedestrian paths, creating orderly and safe spaces.
The same infrastructure can be used to recharge electric bicycles, offering an additional service to guests and promoting sustainable mobility.
A piece of furniture that becomes an integral part of the living experience, capable of combining comfort, autonomy and respect for the environment.

IWIM - vertical photovoltaics to enhance industrial area

Energy and design for sustainable and welcoming corporate spaces

In the Trento North manufacturing area, IWIM’s headquarters welcomes visitors and employees with a new face: five SalvaTerra photovoltaic planters border the parking lot and frame the production entrance.

IWIM, a Trentino-based company specializing in dynamic weighing and structural monitoring systems, has chosen a solution that combines clean energy, order and corporate image.

“We wanted PV, but we also wanted to beautify the space-we work there every day and international clients come through. Hospitality matters. SalvaTerra allowed us to do both.” – Lorenzo Ianes, iWIM

With corten steel planters and vertical double-sided photovoltaic modules, the outdoor area was completely transformed-a quick, trenchless intervention that gave identity to the forecourt, elegantly separating the parking spaces and creating an uncluttered line of sight to the entrance.

The installation of the five planters represents the first step in a modular project: a scalable system that can be expanded or moved according to company needs. The energy produced by the planters is used partly for internal shed lighting, powering LED ceiling lights during working hours, and partly for charging company electric bicycles.

“When the lights on the line come on thanks to the energy produced right out there, the effect is also cultural: you see sustainability in action.”

– Lorenzo Ianes, iWIM

The planters also have social value: they have become a small company garden, tended by employees, with watering shifts and selection of seasonal plants. A simple gesture that promotes well-being in the workplace and strengthens a sense of belonging.

Governance and sustainability: a concrete operational model

IWIM has integrated SalvaTerra into its ISO 9001 management system, tracking each component and creating a maintenance checklist to ensure transparency and control over time.

Planters contribute to the company’s ESG goals in tangible ways:

Environmental ➡️ self-consumed renewable energy and reduced emissions;

Social ➡️ shared green spaces and employee engagement;

Governance ➡️gestione tracked, qualified suppliers and measurable indicators.

“For us, sustainability is operational, not a slogan. What you produce inside, you tell outside – clearly, neatly and beautifully.”

– Lorenzo, iWIM

Salvaterra: Design photovoltaics as a strategic choice

IWIM’s experience demonstrates how SalvaTerra vertical photovoltaics can transform industrial areas, hospitality facilities, and public spaces into sustainable and visually curated productive environments. In addition to generating clean energy, the photovoltaic planters organize parking lots, demarcate pathways, and convey corporate values through functional and recognizable design. The installations at Arco Zoo Camping and the IWIM company highlight SalvaTerra’s ability to adapt naturally to very different contexts-from glamping to industrial plants-offering a concrete solution to the growing demand for sustainability involving both the hotellerie and manufacturing sectors. European regulations, from Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) to the NRP, favor investment in technologies that combine energy efficiency and quality design. With SalvaTerra, each reality can enhance its outdoor spaces by transforming them into an energy and visual landmark, communicating its commitment to sustainability in a concrete way.
