How to cope with the energy crisis: saving money with plug & play garden and patio PV, gardening and living more peacefully
When energy costs more, the answer may be simpler than expected
When it comes to the energy crisis, bill increases and ever-changing costs, it is easy to get anxious. Yet in precisely the most volatile times, the best solution is often not to complicate life, but to simplify it.
Create a small green space, take care of the flowers, enjoy the terrace or garden, and at the same time produce clean energy.
SalvaTerra is a mini photovoltaic system, consisting of a corten steel tub for flowers and vertical uprights that integrate the photovoltaic module, created specifically for those who want to have a plug & play mini system, a little extra energy and photovoltaics to put in their garden or terrace. A practical and pleasant solution for everyday living, designed to concretely increase one’s energy autonomy.
How SalvaTerra works in Plug & Play mode (Light Model)
SalvaTerra Light is designed for simple and immediate use without technical intervention or complex installation.
1. Placement
✔️ Place the planter in the garden, terrace or balcony
✔️ Ideal exposure: south (but east/west also works well)
2. Electrical connection
✔️ System already complete with panel, microinverter and cable
✔️ Simply plug into a household outlet
3. Operation
✔️ The panel generates direct current (DC)
✔️ The microinverter converts it into alternating current (AC)
✔️ The energy directly powers active household appliances
Result
✅ Less energy withdrawn from the grid
✅ Immediate savings in utility bills
How Salvaterra Survival model works with the storage battery
SalvaTerra Survival is a stand-alone energy solution designed to provide independence, continuity and security even in the absence of a power grid.
1. Energy production
✔️ Vertical photovoltaic panels capture sunlight throughout the day
✔️ More distributed production (morning and afternoon), also ideal in urban spaces
2. Smart storage
✔️ The energy produced is stored in integrated batteries (LFPs)
✔️ Modular capacity: can be increased as needed
✔️ Energy available even at night or during power outages
3. Management and use
✔️ The hybrid inverter automatically manages flows between panels, batteries and utilities
✔️ It can operate:
- In off-grid (completely autonomous)
- In backup (comes into operation when the network is missing)
4. Powering devices
✔️ Powers essential utilities (lights, charging devices, small appliances)
✔️ Dedicated outlets possible for emergency and business continuity
Result
✅ Energy always available, even without a grid
✅ Increased energy security
✅ Reduced costs and independence
Practical help for energy saving in the home
In times when energy costs alternate with constant contingencies, having an extra mini PV system can really make a difference. You don’t have to build a fixed system, tackle invasive work or permanently modify your home. A garden or patio PV such as SalvaTerra allows you to add extra energy production easily, flexibly, and immediately. It is a practical choice for those who want to help themselves to PV panels without turning their outdoor space into a construction site, improving savings during the energy crisis with an elegant and compact solution.
An easy-to-use, relocatable and worry-free photovoltaic kit
One of the strengths of SalvaTerra is precisely its simplicity. It is a do-it-yourself photovoltaic kit, pre-assembled, pre-wired and designed to be easily installed without the need for professional assembly. It arrives with clear instructions and is designed to be immediately usable. What’s more, it’s moveable-meaning you can rearrange your space whenever you want, following the seasons, the needs of the house, or simply the aesthetic taste of the moment. What’s more, the planter allows you to grow flowers and ornamental plants, combining the pleasure of gardening with the practical value of saving energy during the energy crisis.
Vertical solar panels provide value even in the coldest months
From a technical point of view, vertical solar panels offer a very interesting advantage. Unlike horizontal or more inclined panels, they can have a particularly useful output in the colder months, when the sun is lower on the horizon. Precisely at the time when energy is needed most, and often costs the most, a system like SalvaTerra can make a valuable contribution to home production. That is why its value is not limited to the summer: it is a system that can accompany the home through the winter months as well, bringing support at a time of year when any energy help becomes even more important.
How much SalvaTerra can produce
From the point of view of energy production, SalvaTerra can be used in different ways, depending on the configuration chosen. In plug & play mode, a single SalvaTerra has a total output of 350 Wp, as indicated in the data sheet, and is designed to make an immediate, simple, and practical contribution to household consumption, without complex intervention.
When, on the other hand, several SalvaTerra units are used as a small combined system, the concept changes: each planter becomes part of a mini PV garden or terrace system, capable of gradually increasing the available output. In this configuration, each SalvaTerra can develop about 420 W of nominal power; consequently, with 2 or 3 units, one can get about 1 kW of additional power, useful for strengthening one’s energy autonomy precisely at times when energy costs more. In fact, the installed module has a rated power of 430-440 Wp, while the plug & play configuration is limited to 350 W.
More energy autonomy with battery or off-grid mode
For those who want even more independence, SalvaTerra can also be designed in an off-grid configuration, with the addition of a battery. Storage capacity can range from 1 kWh and up, depending on usage needs and desired level of autonomy. This allows the energy produced to be stored and used when needed, further increasing the flexibility of the system. In an energy crisis scenario, having a small personal reserve and an autonomous PV kit is a smart, practical, and reassuring choice.
A more serene way to deal with rising energy prices
In the end, perhaps the best way to deal with energy uncertainty is not to worry more, but to organize better. A little more autonomy, some greenery around, less dependence on price increases, and an outdoor space that becomes more beautiful and more useful. SalvaTerra was created for just that: to offer a solution that combines design, nature and energy production in one. Because even in the midst of the energy crisis, you can choose a more serene approach: growing, saving and living better, with a plug-and-play mini PV system that is stylish, flexible and ready to use.
